Forest Village - Level Design

So I've been working on this project and focusing on my level design skills for the last two weeks and learning more about the unreal engine, This is a little village located in the forest near gigantic mountains.

I've learned a lot while making this project. I've been messing around with the Lightmaps and LODs; using LOD has been a keystone in the progress of this project as I've needed them to run the project at a stable 60+fps. Furthermore Unreal Level Sequencer is an amazing tool and I've been absolutely loving it as you may know I am also a photographer so having a digital camera in unreal, unreal cameras have presets of actual camera sensors and so I directed a whole video(shown below) showing off the village.

This is the whole video created in a Master Level Sequencer holding 9 shots.

Here is one of the animation rigs for one of the shots. Most shots were 15 seconds.

This level is fully dynamic environment and it can simulate both day and night settings of this village. A lot of the assets materials have been edited and changed in various ways to suit the environment they are in. I wanted to theme this village red, to give it a mysterious feeling so you will never know if this village is lovely or hostile. The mushrooms dotted around the place give it a real authentic feeling. The little river that passes through the middle separating the homes, bridges and other small touches have given this little village a way to live. Initially this was just going to be a house in a forest but it dawned on me why would a house be all by itself here...

(I am still working on Oxidane and new update blog post for it will come soon...)
